Mechanical Engineering Workshops
The EETTEC mechanical engineering workshop facilities have been created with the professional mechanical engineer in mind. Machining centres, engineering work-benches, condition based monitoring rigs with vibration monitoring rigs, stress and fracture analysis centres, advanced maintenance zones, flow monitoring equipment and specialized corrosion centre are central to the workshop environments at EETTEC. The centre provides fluid engineering facility for mechanical engineering analysis and laboratory work on many types of modern and traditional pumps, pipes, valves, compressors. The engineering design centre compliments the mechanical engineering workshops and can cater for most disciplines within mechanical engineering.
Practical work areas allow for varied methods of mechanical maintenance to be practiced from basic fault finding and failure modes detection to more advance condition based and reliability centred maintenance (CBM and RCM) experiments. On many of the EETTEC courses students are given their own work-bench area and encouraged to strip down and rebuild mechanical equipment. Specific courses can focus on strip down and repair, preventive maintenance or CBM of chosen equipment.
